Prost denies Alonso involvement in Alpine departure: 'Absolutely not'

Recently Alain Prost announced his departure from Alpine. His departure is part of a restructuring of the team, which also saw departures in recent weeks. Prost was not particularly fond of some of his colleagues, but on the other hand has nothing but praise for Fernando Alonso.
Prost did not have a good word to say about his former employer. He felt that Alpine handled the way the news was announced 'disrespectfully'. He also stated that his departure had to do with a 'personal relationship', with which he seems to hint at team boss Laurent Rossi.

The four-time world champion also answered a remarkable viewer question, the Spanish Marca noticed. The questioner involved Fernando Alonso by asking if the driver had anything to do with the restructuring and if it is Alonso who is 'starting to destroy everything'.
According to Prost, there is no question of that. "Absolutely not. Fernando is top-notch and also very correct," replied the Frenchman, who has previously praised the Spaniard. "His general racing vision is incredible, as is his feeling for the tires, how he talks about the car and helps the engineers. As far as I am concerned, he is the best driver on the track," Prost said after Alonso's podium finish at the Qatar Grand Prix.
