Haas give a striking hint about Mazepin's replacement
- GPblog.com
Nikita Mazepin is not sure of his place in Formula 1 next season. Rumours have been circulating all week about the Russian driver's possible replacement, but Haas shared a striking photo on social media on Thursday night.
A statement from the FIA made it clear that Mazepin will be allowed to race as long as he uses a neutral flag. However, the United Kingdom decided to exclude teams, drivers and officials from Russia and Belarus from participating in motorsport events. Australia is also reportedly considering the same measures.
As a result, more and more obstacles are coming in the way of Mazepin's Formula One career. Pietro Fittipaldi and Antonio Giovinazzi were already mentioned as possible replacements for the team. On Thursday evening, the German branch of Sky Sports reported that Fittipaldi will be Mazepin's replacement next season.
Does Haas confirm replacement for Mazepin?
Meanwhile, Haas shared a very striking photo on Twitter. The team is counting down to the test days in Bahrain from March 10 to 12. In the photo that Haas adds in the tweet, we see the car with number 51, the starting number of Fittipaldi. In fact, the driver had previously driven on the track as a replacement for Romain Grosjean after his violent crash in Bahrain. Does Haas confirm him as Mazepin's replacement?
