Pierre Gasly has a clear goal in mind. He has his sights set on the second Red Bull Racing seat alongside Max Verstappen, he made clear earlier. The AlphaTauri driver looks back on the final moments of the 2021 Formula One season, in which he saw his former teammate become world champion.
Gasly was busy with his rivals at McLaren and Ferrari in the final stages of the Bahrain Grand Prix, but saw the footage of the epic duel between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton back during his interviews with the media.

He watched the spectacle with wide eyes. The moment the race was restarted for one final lap, Gasly knew that his former teammate would pull out all the stops to take the championship. He finds it hard to imagine how that must have felt in Verstappen's car, while he 'had to and would overtake' Hamilton's car, he told Motorsport.com.
Gasly thoroughly enjoyed Verstappen's overtaking, as well as the title fight that preceded it. He says he always knew Red Bull Racing would win again at some point. So it was bound to happen, but Gasly also feared at one point that Hamilton would run away with it anyway. He is happy that his old team came out on top with Verstappen.
