'Haas may take advantage of clause in Giovinazzi's contract'
- GPblog.com
Antonio Giovinazzi never made a secret of his desire to return to Formula 1 one day after leaving last season. That moment may come sooner than expected, because he is reportedly on the list of Haas. A transfer does not seem to be a problem for the driver.
The Italian driver drove for Sauber, Haas and Alfa Romeo successively between 2017 and 2021. The latter team decided to part with him last season. Since at that time all teams had completed their drivers for 2022, it was impossible for Giovinazzi to get another spot in the motorsport class.
Therefore, he decided to take up another challenge and started working in Formula E. However, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he agreed with his team Dragon that it would be possible to leave when a Formula 1 team came along. That possibility has increased with the departure of Nikita Mazepin, so it cannot be ruled out that we will see Giovinazzi again.
Forced departure of Mazepin
Mazepin and Haas chose to continue with each other despite disappointing results in 2021, until Vladimir Putin decided to attack Ukraine. It caused the pressure on Haas to be so great that it decided to part ways with the driver.
