Hamilton on surprise podium: "This is the best result we could have got"

After a chaotic opening Grand Prix to the 2022 Formula One season, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton managed to finish on the podium in third, despite Mercedes having a significant pace disadvantage to the front-running Ferraris and Red Bulls.
Hamilton managed to bag third on the podium after two late-race retirements from the Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, an unlikely result as the team weren't quite as fast as their rivals ahead of them.
Talking to Sky after the Grand Prix concluded, the Brit had this to say; "Firstly, big congrats to Ferrari. Happy to see them doing well again, great to see Carlos and Charles up there. Such a difficult race, we struggled through practice. This is the best result we could have got. Unfortunate for the other drivers."
Struggles for the Silver Arrows
It was a struggle for both Mercedes drivers Hamilton and George Russell, who finished fourth behind his teammate. Mercedes are nowhere near the dominating pace they're used to, falling behind their rivals quickly into the race. Despite the fact, Hamilton keeps his head up high in confidence and determination to bring the Silver Arrows back to the front of the pack.
"I know the guys are working really hard at the factory. Not a quick turn around, but we know we've been unified and we will keep our heads down and working. There's a long way to go. I'll go to bed satisfied." Hamilton stated in the post-race interview.
