Steiner on hilarious advertising photos: 'No idea how I got into it'
- GPblog.com
Last weekend saw the first Grand Prix of the year, and there was plenty of life in the F1 world again. In the same weekend, the photos of Guenther Steiner and Mick Schumacher surfaced to promote Aldi furniture.
The Netflix series Drive to Survive already showed the Haas duo being photographed for the supermarket's advertising campaign. The two are pictured without Nikita Mazepin or Kevin Magnussen, making the photos look like a camping trip between father and son. The photos appeared all over social media, and the compilations drew many laughs.
Steiner responds to viral photos
In conversation with Sky Sports, Steiner responds to the photos that have since gone viral. Indeed, Sky wonders aloud, "How did you get into this Guenther?" Steiner: "I don't know. I don't know how I agreed to this. It must have happened at some point. And now it's everywhere!" Steiner can laugh about it himself. The Haas team boss looks back on a pleasant day with nice people.
At Sky Sports they expect Aldi's sales to have gone up considerably. Steiner jokes back, "Maybe I should go back to the sponsor and ask if we can get something in return." Steiner closes by telling us he hasn't received any free garden furniture yet but he is quietly waiting. Watch a compilation of the photos below and Steiner's reaction below.
