Yuki Tsunoda can look back on the Bahrain Grand Prix with a satisfied feeling, as he crossed the finish line in eighth place. The AlphaTauri driver is happy that he was able to score points for his team, which, like Red Bull Racing, had to contend with technical problems.

Tsunoda is very pleased with the fact that his team largely solved the problem with porpoising. They did struggle "a bit more than expected" with the pace during the weekend, especially in the second free practice. Tsunoda says so in a press release.

Tsunoda has a clear goal

However, there is an upward trend there as well. "As the weekend went on, we made progress," the Japanese driver said. He saw teammate Pierre Gasly get into Q3, but he himself just failed. "Especially having missed FP3 running due to a hydraulic line issue, and we know how much any lap on track counts," he explains.

In Saudi Arabia, the AlphaTauri driver expects a challenging week in terms of the car's performance. For Tsunoda, the focus is on helping develop the car so that his team can consistently compete at the top of the midfield. "Because currently, we are not in a position to achieve the goals we have set ourselves for this season," said Tsunoda.
