Concerns over budget cap: "Then the whole system collapses"

Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto has expressed his concerns about possible abuse of the new financial regulations and is pressing the FIA to strictly monitor the budget ceiling. He fears that Formula 1 teams will find ways to circumvent the system, which may still allow some teams to put more money into development than others.
His words come after the statements of Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali, who states that there are some concerns about the introduction of the budget cap. He stresses that in addition to controlling the technical side, strict financial control is now necessary for the sport. "If those who have to regulate miss something, the whole system collapses," states the F1 boss according to Motorsport.com.
Concerns about budget cap
There are also concerns about inflation. This is a factor that is difficult to predict, especially now that fuel prices have increased dramatically in a short period of time. According to Domenicali, this will also be discussed. For some teams, for example, transport costs may be higher than for others.
Binotto believes that the FIA should guarantee that no one can exceed the budget ceiling, because that could be decisive in the battle for the world championship. He thinks that the limits introduced will greatly influence the pace of developments.
According to Christian Horner, above all, teams will have to be much more strategic in their development plans. The Red Bull Racing team boss thinks that almost all teams are close to the limit this year and that they will therefore have to be a lot more selective in choosing updates.
