Charles Leclerc finished the Australian Grand Prix victorious. The Monegasque did not encounter a single moment of trouble. Thanks to the retirmnt of Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez and George Russell achieved second and third place respectively.
Prior to the GP, the battle seemed to be between Leclerc and Verstappen. However, during the race the Ferrari driver turned out to be a lot faster than Verstappen, which made it no problem for him to keep his rival behind him. He then even saw the reigning world champion drop out.
Perez started from third place and thus secured a better spot on the podium, while Russell was right behind 5th-placed Hamilton on the starting grid, yet secured third place. Hamilton secured the fourth final position, followed by Lando Norris, Daniel Ricciardo, Esteban Ocon, Valtteri Bottas, Pierre Gasly and Alexander Albon.

Besides Verstappen, the race was also dramatic for Carlos Sainz and Sebastian Vettel. While the Spaniard had to retire already in the opening phase of the race, Vettel had to retire early. Both men seemed to have made a mistake themselves, while Verstappen had to deal with car problems.
