Ricciardo on relationship with Norris: 'Something we couldn't really force'

Daniel Ricciardo has downplayed the drama that arose from the Netflix series Drive To Survive with teammate Lando Norris. According to the McLaren driver, the two have since built a good relationship.
In March, the fourth season of the Netflix series Drive To Survive was released, with McLaren once again getting a lot of attention. It zoomed in on the relationship between teammates Ricciardo and Norris, and it wasn't always positive.
It was expected that the partnership between Ricciardo and Norris would go well, but the Netflix series portrayed the relationship coldly as Ricciardo struggled to adapt to the McLaren car. Norris could muster very little sympathy for this.
Ricciardo and Norris have a good relationship
Speaking to Channel 4, the Australian declares that he had a good relationship with his teammate. "I felt like a lot of people probably wanted us to be best friends from day one. And it was something that we couldn’t force and it did take a bit of time to really create a good relationship."
Ricciardo continues: "But in saying that, there wasn’t tension or anything, it was just that we were trying to figure each other out. Currently, where I sit today, I think we have a very good relationship.” The Netflix series is more often criticized by drivers for its unrealistic stories and images.
