Carlos Sainz caused the second red flag in Imola. The Ferrari driver went off track during Q2 and ended up in the wall.
Sainz ends up in the wall in Q2
Sainz was working on a fast lap, which seemed to put him below Verstappen's provisional fastest time. However, his attempt literally and figuratively fell apart when he lost control of his F1-75 and ended up in the wall.
This was followed by a red flag, giving the rain plenty of time to fall from the sky and putting a damper on any attempts to improve times. So it looks like Q2 will end with the current standings.
