Norris had "Possibility to catch Charles"
A qualifying that ended with Lando Norris in the sandtrap and out of the session but not before the Brit was able to put his McLaren third on the grid. The youngster raced back from beaching his McLaren to get his post-quali interview with Sky Sports.
In which the Brit admitted he "I tried to get the tyres into temperature but push too hard on the out lap" and that there was a "possibility to catch Charles (Leclerc)." The Mclaren driver continued to reinforce "I am happy with P3 which is a surprise for us" and had this to say about continuous improvement in future races "Hard to say because I'm sure everyone can say they'd improve. A possibility for us to go forwards, even more, the car was feeling good and I was feeling confident"
Conditions play into Norris' hands
Norris is well aware of how the tricky condition aided him this evening "conditions made a big difference for us, if it was completely dry, we wouldn't be in third place," as the Brit will be hoping to move up the grid in the Sprint race tomorrow.
