Max Verstappen took pole position for the sprint race in Imola in a very turbulent qualifying session, where the red flag was waved no less than five times. The Dutchman is happy to start the sprint race from the best position but realizes at the same time that the conditions will be different on Saturday.
After qualifying, Verstappen talks about the tricky session, in which changing conditions made it difficult for the drivers. "It was very slippery and difficult to get the tires up to temperature," says the reigning world champion.
Verstappen likes Imola
The Red Bull Racing driver experienced a long, hectic qualifying session, but says he is happy to be back in Imola. "It's a great track that punishes a mistake quickly, then you're in the wall quickly. But we like it when it's a bit harder," says the Dutchman.
He says he is very happy with the pole position, but at the same time, he realizes that Saturday and Sunday look different in terms of weather conditions. Anyway, it's a good start to the weekend for Verstappen.
