This weekend, Formula 1 will travel to America for the first time this season. Later in the season they will do so again, but with Austin as their final destination. This time, the F1 paddock will head to Miami. A street circuit has been built for Formula 1, around the Hard Rock Stadium.
A special race for Haas, who will have their first of two home races this weekend. For the last two years Haas was continuously a team in the rear, but this year the team has put their house in order and are suddenly competing in the midfield. This season especially Kevin Magnussen has shown what the Haas car is capable of.
Magnussen returns to where it started
The Dane was arranged last minute to replace Nikita Mazepin, who could not participate in this season due to sanctions. Now that Formula 1 is traveling to Miami, things have come full circle for Magnussen, he explained in the preview of Haas. "I was also on holiday in Miami when this job came about again! I’m looking forward to going back there, I think there’s a real buzz around the race, so it’s going to be great."
Team boss Guenther Steiner also looks ahead to the race weekend in the preview. The team boss of the American team expects a big show around the racing activities this weekend, but according to him it will be important to keep the focus on the racing, without getting too distracted by all the spectacle off the track.
