Horner explains what Red Bull can develop into
- GPblog.com
Red Bull Racing looks back on two positive Grands Prix, but that doesn't mean Christian Horner is sitting back relaxed. The team boss still sees plenty of areas for improvement with the RB18, he explained in an interview with Formula1.com.
Like the other Formula 1 teams, Red Bull is working hard to find the ideal composition of its cars. One of Horner's conclusions is that the Austrian racing stable's current car is too heavy, so the team will work on making it lighter in the coming months.
"You can always improve everywhere. We need to improve the slow [corner] stuff, we need to lose a couple of kilos off the car," Horner stressed in the interview. "Tyre deg is then the result of weight so it's all those little incremental gains that you're always chasing."
Horner wants to keep pressure on Ferrari
For Horner, it is therefore a priority to take weight off the car as soon as possible. Moreover, it is expected that Red Bull will launch a number of updates during the Spanish GP that should ensure that Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez can continue the title battle with Ferrari. Ferrari however will also come with an update package.
