Ferrari and Red Bull Racing are engaged in a fierce title battle. Until now, Ferrari chose to optimize the current car first before making any new updates. This will change according to La Gazzetta dello Sport this will change in Spain.
Leclerc can take back lead
Indeed, the Italian medium reports that Ferrari will travel to Spain with a brand new floor for the F1-75. Ferrari would not leave it at just a new floor by the way, because Gazzetta reports that a package with other solutions will be put on the car as well. The pink newspaper does not know exactly what this package contains.
Gazzetta does report that the upgrades could probably provide a gain of three to four tenths per lap. This would probably allow Charles Leclerc to regain the lead over title rival Max Verstappen, who has won the past two Grands Prix in Imola and Miami.
New floor already deployed at Monza?
The new floor of Ferrari caused quite some controversy. The team would have already mounted the floor under the car during a Pirelli test at Monza. Mattia Binotto said that the car complied with the regulations, something the FIA later confirmed.
