Can FP3 go ahead after heavy rain? Autograph session F1 teams canceled
- GPblog.com
Last Friday, F1 teams' eyes were already on the gray skies over the Montreal circuit. Indeed, rain was lurking and then fell after the end of the second free practice session. On Saturday, however, the F1 teams will have to deal with rainfall and this could potentially have a major impact on Saturday's schedule.
For it is no light rain that fell in Saturday. On a livestream of the Ferrari Challenge, a support series this weekend, it can be seen that there are many puddles on the track and the spray is huge. Moreover, it can be seen that it continues to rain, so the circuit is not getting drier either.

F1 teams signing session cancelled
Besides the rain on the circuit, there is also plenty going on outside the circuit. The planned autograph session with all F1 teams was cancelled, so fans had to be disappointed after hours of waiting. The circumstances appeared to be too dangerous to organize the autograph session.
The question now is what the consequences will be for the third free practice session. Indeed, with such rainfall, the race committee will not want to take a risk, although it does not look like qualifying is going to be dry with the current weather conditions. A difficult dilemma for the race committee where big decisions will be made in the coming hours.
Gutted we weren't able to make it out to the autograph session this morning.
