Surprising winner in the pit lane at the Canadian Grand Prix
- GPblog.com
The fastest pit stop at the Canadian Grand Prix is credited to Williams. The big names are not in the top three this time. Red Bull Racing is only in fourth place.
For Alexander Albon it was a fine race in Canada, where the Thai eventually crossed the line in thirteenth place. No points for the Williams driver, but his pit stop was not the issue. The team from Grove provided the fastest pit stop in Montreal with a time of 2.38s.
Fastest time for Williams
The team was followed by AlphaTauri, which completed a 2.39s pit stop for Yuki Tsunoda. That fast tide turned out to be for naught afterwards, as the Japanese driver braked too late on exiting the pits and slid into the wall. The third time is for Sebastian Vettel of Aston Martin.
Red Bull Racing can only be found in fourth place this time with Max Verstappen's pit stop. That lasted 2.47s and with that the team was much faster than Carlos Sainz ' pit stop at Ferrari, and that was ultimately the most important thing in the race. Williams and AlphaTauri are once again in the top ten, and Mercedes and Alpine also deliver two pit stops worthy of a top-ten time.
