Is Red Bull behind schedule? 'Updates not ready for France'
- GPblog.com
Because of the budget cap in Formula 1, teams have to be more frugal with their expenses. In Spielberg, it was announced that the budget cap was increasing due to inflation. However, we are seeing fewer major updates from the teams, although Red Bull Racing seems to be coming out with a new package in France.
Max Verstappen's team is neck and neck with Ferrari on the track this season, although the Dutchman has a convincing lead in the championship. At Red Bull, however, they will continue to develop, as every tenth can make a world of difference in the title race. According to Auto, Motor und Sport there will be new updates on the car in Paul-Ricard, but whether that deadline will be met remains to be seen.
Momentum lies with Ferrari
Paul-Ricard is the best test track on paper. It has fast corners, slow corners and long straights. For the past two races in Silverstone and Spielberg, it has been Ferrari that has seemed to be the faster car, but this should soon change if it is up to Red Bull.
The German media reports that updates are planned for Paul-Ricard, but it remains to be seen whether everything will be finished in time. It is possible that updates will have to be postponed to Hungary or even to Belgium or the Netherlands after the summer break.
