Albers praises Verstappen after Spa: 'This was out of this world'

Christijan Albers witnessed Max Verstappen's master class at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit last weekend. The former F1 driver - currently an analyst - also had nothing but praise for the performance of the championship leader.
Looking back, in the F1 podcast from the Telegraaf Albers says he actually expected Verstappen to win, despite his fourteenth starting position. The former Minardi driver refers to the enormous gap with all competitors during qualifying. A simple calculation tells him that on the long runs the margins are further increased, so Max as by far the fastest could still drive to victory.
Painful for Perez
Albers has nice words for his compatriot, who declassified the entire field. Nobody could lay claim to the win, except the unleashed Verstappen. "This was out of this world. This was the combination of Max, Red Bull and that deadly extra feeling Max has in Spa," said Albers.
Perez was second, but very far behind the Dutchman. In no less than eighteen seconds the Mexican had to concede on his teammate. "That time difference makes it a very, very painful record for Perez," Albers said.
