Respect for the iconic professional tennis player is high, also among F1 drivers. George Russell even attended the match in London. "Great to catch up with Roger Federer after the final game of his incredible career. Not just one of the greatest athletes of all time, one of the nicest guys you could ever meet too," said the Mercedes driver.
Carlos Sainz, Fernando Alonso and Nico Hulkenberg also paid attention to the farewell of Federer, who decided to give up his wish for one last Wimbledon appearance after more than a year of injury.
