Qualifying for the Singapore Grand Prix is scheduled for Saturday. Like the race itself, it will be staged under the lights of the Marina Bay Street Circuit and it looks set to be an exciting session.

Wet qualifying coming up?

On Friday, in dry conditions, it was a real battle between Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull Racing. The three teams seem to be very much matched on the streets of Singapore. It has to be said, however, that Friday's data might be thrown away. Indeed, on Saturday, the chance of rain and thunderstorms are very high and the first showers have already passed by.

The battle for pole position in 2022 is more exciting than the races themselves. Currently, Charles Leclerc holds the most poles this season, followed by Max Verstappen. Sergio Perez, Carlos Sainz and George Russell each have one pole position behind their names this year.

Hamilton's chances

In Singapore, a sixth name could just be added to the list of pole sitters. Indeed, Lewis Hamilton concluded a session in the city as the fastest in FP1 for the first time this season. The Briton will be keen to achieve his 103rd pole in Singapore.
