Nyck de Vries has officially fitted his first Formula 1 seat with the AlphaTauri team. The Dutchman is visiting the team's factory in the Italian town of Faenza.
On Twitter, AlphaTauri shares the first images of De Vries in the team's car. The Dutchman attends the factory of Red Bull Racing's sister team on Friday. The team plans for the 27-year-old driver to take part in the Young Driver Test in Abu Dhabi at the end of the season. Therefore, De Vries is there early to prepare his seat.
During the weekend before the Japanese Grand Prix, AlphaTauri announced that De Vries will become Yuki Tsunoda's new teammate in 2023. Pierre Gasly is leaving the team for Alpine, freeing up a seat for De Vries. After his impressive race debut in Italy, rumours grew stronger that the Dutchman would be seen on the F1 grid in 2023. Among others, he was spotted in Austria with Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko.
