Still no deal between Red Bull and FIA, talks put on hold until after US GP
- GPblog.com
While some sources reported that there was an agreement between Red Bull Racing and the FIA regarding the budget cap, those reports appear to be unfounded. The team has released a statement saying that talks have been put on hold out of respect for the death of Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz.
Talks between Red Bull and FIA on hold
Red Bull Racing states the following: "Following the passing of Mr Mateschitz, all conversations with the FIA around Cost Cap and next steps are on hold until further notice. The deadline for agreement has been extended and we expect talks to pick back up middle of the week."
So for the time being, no definite conclusion on the issue surrounding Red Bull's budget cap will follow, but it is clear that the parties are still far from agreement. The FIA is said to have proposed a deal, but the team continues to maintain its innocence. It is not yet clear when the talks will continue, but it is expected to happen ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix.
