Alonso on Brazil: 'That makes it unpredictable'

Alpine and McLaren are in a fierce battle for fourth place in the constructors' championship. With two Grands Prix and a sprint race to go, the difference is currently seven points. McLaren had the upper hand in Mexico, but Alpine is hoping to consolidate fourth place in Brazil.
Interlagos has often seen great races. According to Fernando Alonso, one factor often accounts for this: "There is always an element of the unknown heading to Brazil. It tends to throw up some interesting races and results. The weather is difficult to predict and we’ve seen some absolute classic races in the past because of this unpredictability", he said in a press release from his team.
Extremes
A rain race is always possible in Brazil. Alonso assumes it will be a weekend of extremes anyway. "We will probably see some mixed weather conditions in either qualifying, the Sprint or the race. Thanks to the Sprint format we have two attempts in which to score points and extend our lead to McLaren heading into the final Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi."
For Alonso, these are the last two races before he leaves Alpine and goed to Aston Martin. He is currently ninth in the championship, 11 points off teammate Esteban Ocon. It has to be said: Alonso has faced some bad luck this season, such as last race in Mexico.
