Max Verstappen looks back at the past two seasons with a sense of satisfaction. The Dutchman managed to take the world title in both years, while Red Bull Racing also won the constructors' championship in 2022. In an interview with GQ Magazine Verstappen states that he has achieved his goals.
"I have achieved everything I wanted in Formula 1," Verstappen told American Men's magazine. "But now I want to try and do it again and again and again, as long as you can, because you never know how long your car is going to be competitive for, or how long you’re going to be around for."
Verstappen focuses on himself
Many young drivers today see Verstappen as a great role model in Formula 1. The two-time world champion did not have that himself, he frankly admits. According to the Red Bull driver, it is good for a driver to keep faith in yourself.
"I never really had someone that I looked up to. Like, ‘I really want to be like this guy’ or whatever. I just wanted to be myself. That works the best. If you start copying people, you can only be as good as them. You cannot be better," Verstappen explained.
In Mexico, Verstappen managed his fourteenth win of the season, holding the record. He has the opportunity in the final race in Abu Dhabi this coming weekend to take his fifteenth GP win and thus set the record even sharper.
