Norris needs honesty from McLaren: 'I'm not a guy who likes BS'

Before the start of the 2022 season, Lando Norris signed a multi-year contract at McLaren until 2025. However, the Briton needs to be patient, as this season too the team failed to fight at the top for victories. Yet Norris still has faith in his team.
McLaren has lost the fight for fourth place in the constructors' championship. Alpine managed to beat the team by a fourteen-point lead after both Norris and Daniel Ricciardo crashed out in Brazil.
In the drivers' championship, Norris managed to finish as 'best of the rest' behind top teams Red Bull Racing, Ferrari and Mercedes. Yet seventh place is not what the British driver is looking for. With the introduction of the new regulations at the start of the 2022 season, there were high expectations for McLaren, but the team had a mediocre start.
Norris still has faith in McLaren
Speaking to Formula1.com Norris reveals the guarantees he has received from McLaren. "It’s just faith, it’s just honesty, that’s the main things I need. I’m not a guy who in any way likes BS, or who likes people trying to make me happy. I like just people being honest."
"I have faith in McLaren, I have faith in the guys I work with, the whole team. But time will tell. You can never be a hundred per cent certain where you are going to be, but you can have a good shot at it", says the 23-year-old driver. Next year, Norris will face a new challenge in the form of teammate Oscar Piastri, who replaces compatriot Ricciardo from 2023.
