Aston Martin will adopt a "very aggressive development strategy" for the 2023 Formula 1 car. So says technical director Dan Fallows, who previously served as head of aerodynamics at Red Bull Racing.

Earlier, Fallows stated that copying the competition will not help close the gap. This after there was much ado about the team's B-spec last season, which was also called the 'green Red Bull' because the car did look very much like the RB18. Aston Martin has always denied the allegations.

Ahead of the 2023 F1 season, therefore, the team does not want to go down that road. Notably, the second half of the 2022 season saw improvement in the Aston Martin car and Fallows says that is a good omen. "It has been a big factor in building our confidence for next year," said the Briton, according to Racer.com.

Fallows stresses that the car was not where the team wanted it to be at the start of the season, but thinks developments over the course of the year have paid off. The team is therefore keen to continue that line in 2023. "What we’re trying to do next year is to take a very aggressive development strategy but build on those lessons from this year," Fallows said.
