Gene Haas sets clear 2023 aims for Hulkenberg and Magnussen
Gene Haas has explained what his Formula 1 are aiming for during the 2023 Formula 1 season. Haas finished eighth in the Constructors Championship last season. Equipped with a different driver in Nico Hulkenberg, the chairman of the team wants to see more consistency across all race weekends.
Haas will compete with the VF-23 in the upcoming season which starts in early March. On Tuesday, the livery was launched but the main aspects and details of the new car remain hidden. The livery matches with new title sponsor MoneyGram.
Haas in 2023
The new rules and regulations for the 2022 season provided Haas with a bit of light. They had been dropped down to the bottom of the grid for a number of years. They even ended up scoring zero points in 2021 in what became an early written-off year. The changes provided them with a platform to score points and they achieved that. Haas has clear targets for the upcoming season.
"We head into a new season buoyed by some strong team performances last year and a return to points paying finishes. The aim for the 2023 season is naturally to do that more consistently and with Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hülkenberg I certainly believe we’ve got an experienced driver pairing more than capable of delivering those points on a Sunday," Gene Haas explained.
The season starts with the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend. The main event takes place on Sunday 5th March, but we will see the VF-23 in action for the first time a week inadvance with pre-season testing at the same venue.
