Haas in 2022 and in 2023: these are the differences!
- GPblog.com
A new season, a new look. The US team goes in black this year, after three seasons in white.
Of course, at Haas, they would like to forget the 2022 sponsorship woes altogether. A year ago, the US team presented a car on which main sponsor Uralkali featured prominently. Ultimately, this car would never run a Grand Prix with this sponsor name on the sides, as due to the war in Ukraine, Russian driver Nikita Mazepin was sidelined shortly before the start of the season. The company of which his father was the boss, namely Uralkali, disappeared in his wake.
No new main sponsor in 2022
During the first winter test, Uralkali was briefly seen on the car in 2022, but during the test days, the sponsor name was removed from the cars. Haas then failed to find a new main sponsor. A major sponsor name was therefore no longer on display during the year. The question is whether that would really have been necessary, as Uralkali had already paid the invoices. As far as is known, that money was never transferred back to the Russians by Haas.
In Moneygram, Haas has found a new title sponsor for this season. Black is an important colour for this company, so it was already obvious that black would become a support colour for the VF-23. One year mainly white, the other mainly black: what do GPblog visitors think is the best looking car of the two?
