Christian Horner is very confident in the qualities of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. While he believes the Dutchman has already demonstrated extensively that he continues to improve himself, he also sees Perez developing. The team boss therefore hopes that Red Bull Racing will be able to produce an even better season in 2023.

Horner was impressed by the way Verstappen beat his 2021 rival Lewis Hamilton. Speaking to Auto, Motor und Sport he revealed that the now two-time World Champion managed to perform even better a year later.

"I think that’s the exciting thing with Max that as he gains experience he just becomes more rounded and versatile, and just deals with pressure incredibly well. What he’s achieved has been phenomenal," the team leader analysed Verstappen's development.

Horner satisfied with Perez

Red Bull took a long time to find a teammate that would suit Verstappen. Horner is satisfied with the way Perez is filling his current role. Whereas he had to get used to the Austrian formation in 2021, Horner says he is now doing better.

"I think Checo has handled that very well. Of course he was a integral part of us winning the Constructors championship and finishing a very close third in the championship (Drivers’) last year. Winning two Grand Prix."
