Sky Sports have their favourites: This driver was interviewed most often
- GPblog.com
Sky Sports is the main broadcaster in Formula 1. Their images and commentary can be seen not only in the UK, but also in America and Australia, for example. The English pay-TV broadcaster is therefore present at every Grand Prix with an extensive delegation of commentators and analysts.
During the extensive previews, the team bosses and drivers will of course speak. Motorsport Broadcasting has figured out who is most often pulled in front of the camera by Sky before a session (free practice, qualifying or race). There were two men who featured prominently in 2022: Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc and Red Bull team boss Christian Horner.
The driver content featured Leclerc 13.7 per cent of the time. This was possibly due to the fact that the Monegasque was often the fastest over one lap, so that made him an interesting interviewee. Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen followed in spots two and three, where the Englishman really appeared narrowly more often on screen. The difference was in the hundredths of percentage points.
The top five
1. Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) - 13.7%
2. Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) - 11.6%
3. Max Verstappen (Red Bull) - 11.6%
4. George Russell (Mercedes) -10.0%
5. Lando Norris(McLaren) - 9.4%
Among team bosses, Horner was a welcome guest. He remained ahead of Toto Wolff and the ever-eloquent Günther Steiner.
