Yuki Tsunoda is happy with Nyck de Vries as a new teammate. The Japanese has been working with the experienced Pierre Gasly for the past two years, but the 22-year-old driver has also learned a lot from the Dutchman in recent weeks.
De Vries makes his debut in Formula 1 this season, although he already made his official debut last year in the Italian Grand Prix. The 28-year-old driver has extensive experience as a test and reserve driver in Formula 1; he won Formula 2 and Formula E and was also successful in the WEC.
Tsunoda immediately notices that his new teammate is seasoned. "How he acts in the team and also how he gives the team feedback on the car is really specific. And especially the feedback he gives is always about quite impressive things. HHow he always says the details. So those [things] I have already learned from him, as a driver."
Speaking to Viaplay, he continued, "As a driver, I'm looking forward to working with him this year. He is giving us a step forward as a team as well. With Nyck, we are happy so far, and as I said, I am looking forward to the rest of the season."
