Kevin Magnussen says Haas' greater stability than McLaren makes for a better atmosphere.

Kevin Magnussen has said that Haas' stability has helped him endure his best start to a Formula One season, helping his team who are fifth in the constructors' championship.

Magnussen stayed loyal to Haas in the off-season, meaning it's the first time in his career that he's stayed with a team for more than a single season.

The Haas driver used to drive for McLaren in 2014, before being dropped to a reserve role a year later.

"My first couple of years in F1 were tumultuous," Magnussen told Crash.net.

"They were really messy, changing teams, having a year off and coming back in and struggling again with the team.

"Now I've found some consistency, a more consistent place to get into the whole thing again and building up. I feel like I'm back at a good level."

Magnussen then was asked to compare the Haas team to his former side, McLaren.

"Haas is a much more stable team," Magnussen revealed.

"Not only more simple, but very stable - you don't get people on the way out or on the way in.

"In the other teams, I saw a lot of people insecure about their positions in the team and worrying about that position. That creates a bad atmosphere and culture within the team.

"Here, there is a lot of stability - the management and most people here feel good and secure. We are under pressure, but it's much more healthy kind of pressure."
