This year, for the first time,
Formula 1 will provide the television coverage of the
Monaco Grand Prix, reports
Motorsport Broadcasting. Previously, this was always done by the local authorities, but that will now come to an end.
In the past decade, the
Monaco Grand Prix has been the only race on the calendar where the broadcast was not provided by
Formula 1 itself. This season will thus be the first ever where all broadcasts of the F1 sessions are controlled by
F1 itself.
Moment of broadcast Monaco 2021
With this choice, the broadcast quality of F1 sessions should go up. In 2021, for example, there was a notable moment where, in the middle of an exciting fight between
Pierre Gasly and
Sebastian Vettel, the broadcast was switched to a replay in which
Lance Stroll lightly hit the wall. Many jokes were later made on the internet about this particular switchover. The Monaco Grand Prix takes place next weekend.
