Honda's return to Formula 1 is undoubtedly the most talked about topic ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix. Yuki Tsunoda is very happy that the Japanese engine manufacturer is returning to the king class of motorsport, he told the press conference ahead of the race weekend in Monte Carlo.

'As part of Honda family, I am happy'

The Japanese joined AlphaTauri in 2021, partly because Honda was then the engine supplier to Red Bull and its Italian sister team. The AlphaTauri driver is therefore very happy that the engine manufacturer from Japan is now returning to Formula One: "As part of the Honda family, it's good to see them back into the Formula 1 environment. It was actually a shame, two years, three years ago, when they left after they had such a massive year. I would say it's good for them. I like their challenges, and I hope they have another successful season with Aston Martin," he said.

How Aston Martin and Honda's partnership will work out remains to be seen. Tsunoda also does not yet know what to expect from it: "To be honest, it's too far away to think about, but it's an interesting collaboration. I heard it's not the first time, so maybe they can adapt quickly," he said.
