Verstappen sees technical headliner move to McLaren: 'At such an offer...'
Word came this week that Rob Marshall, Red Bull Racing's technical chief, is switching to McLaren. Max Verstappen regrets the Briton's departure, but can understand it. After all, McLaren is said to have made a generous salary offer.
How much that will matter? "That's hard to estimate. Everyone who is working on this generation of cars that are still out there. But if someone gets an offer like that, of course I can understand that he would switch. And yes, he is of course also in his 50s in my opinion. A few years of earning well I understand of course," said the two-time world champion to Dutch channel Viaplay.
Marshall, who held the position of chief engineering officer, was mainly concerned with future projects at Red Bull, such as the development of the car for 2026. Who will take his place has not been disclosed.
