Mexico in shock after early elimination Perez: 'It's not an incident anymore'
- Toby McLuskie
Mexico adores Sergio Perez, but after yet another failure, despair is also beginning to set in among his fans. Even Esto, the website that is always very positive about Perez, is full of disbelief after the Red Bull Racing driver's 16th place during qualifying for the British Grand Prix. "And the nightmare continues," the website headlines.
The desperation splashed off the webpage: "It's unbelievable. The nightmare continues as once again he could not reach Q3. Worse, he did not even make it to Q2. As a result, he will start Sunday from 16th position," Esto stated, summing up Perez's day with the word 'terrible.'
'Perez was too confident'
What was it down to this time? His team Red Bull Racing got a sneer as usual, but Perez was also criticised by the site's journalist. "You could see that the Mexican was too confident, but there was also too little communication from the team. Indeed, there were still a few seconds on the clock to do another lap, when several drivers had already overtaken him. But he took no risk."
Esto is a medium that for a long time described everything Perez did from a positive point of view. After qualifying this Saturday, even the website could no longer disguise it: "After five bad qualifying sessions, it is no longer a coincidence, but everything seems to have become ordinary," the Mexican site wrote.
