The 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix will start at 14:00 BST, at the Hungaroring near Budapest. It will be the 11th race in the 2023 Formula 1 season and, therefore, the exact halfway point in the schedule. Though for the first time in many years, it will not be the final race before the summer break because it will be followed by the Belgian Grand Prix one week later.

Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing will be the favourites going into the race weekend because of their long streak of consecutive wins. The track might not suit their car as much as usual, but the Monaco Grand Prix proved they can adapt the set-up to suit various different needs. The Dutchman now has a 99-point lead in the World Championship, and it's already a question of when rather than if. Sergio Perez will be looking to find his qualifying form again as the pressure starts to mount. Meanwhile, Mercedes, Ferrari, Aston Martin and even McLaren will be pushing to try and topple Red Bull's record-equalling run of 11 wins.

When will the drivers be in action?

The Hungarian Grand Prix weekend will see the traditional format of Formula 1. That means three practice sessions will be completed on Friday and Saturday. Qualifying will take place on Saturday afternoon, and the race will take place on Sunday, 23 July, at 15:00 local time (14:00 BST). The weather forecast for these sessions is here.
