Verstappen hungry and perfectionist: 'Always things that could be better'
- Sam Godber
Max Verstappen is stringing together victories in the current Formula 1 season and the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps was no exception. Despite the absolute dominance shown by Verstappen and Red Bull Racing from the start of the season, the Dutch world champion always sees room for improvement.
"It's not so much about learning about myself, it's just always wanting more and I'm trying to look at every single situation what you could have done better," the two-time world champion told Sky Sports. "I know I was brought up that way too, to always want more and always look at details. Even if people say it's great, there are always things that could be better," he continued.
Verstappen not done yet in Formula 1
"I'm definitely enjoying the moment but at the same time I know that this one at one point will stop, so we need to enjoy keep learning keep trying to improve and I'm trying to implement it again for the next race," Verstappen said. The question is how much there is to improve when you win almost every race in the king class of motorsport by street lengths.
Still, the Red Bull driver himself does not find the dominance a problem at all: "This keeps the fire going. If I have to rock up and I have no chance of winning then the fire starts to go away," he says.
