Jaguar confirms transfer: 'Looking forward to having Mitch as a teammate'

It had been in the air for a while, now the final word is out: Nick Cassidey will drive for Jaguar's Formula E team next season. The runner-up in the last championship makes the move from Envision Racing. He will be team-mate of Mitch Evans, meaning Jaguar will field two New Zealanders in '24.
"Looking back over these last three years I am really proud of what we achieved together,” Cassidy said about his departure of Envision. “It’s been a whirlwind, it’s been a rollercoaster but ultimately an amazing time at Envision Racing. This season has been an incredible season and we were so close to doing everything perfectly – but I don’t want that to take away from all the wins and all the good times we had. To achieve so much in one season in Formula E is not really heard of and that means it was a special time – and I am so glad that I was able to share that with the team that gave me my chance in this championship. I will remember it all fondly.”
Two New Zealanders at Jaguar
At Jaguar, Cassidy succeeds Sam Bird, who formed a partnership with Mitch Evans for many years. "Looking forward to having Mitch as a teammate, we have known each other since we were kids and have raced against each other for years, so I’m proud that we will be racing together and hope to continue to put New Zealand on the map in motorsport."
Cassidy's successor at Envision is expected to be Robin Frijns. The Dutchman drove for ABT Cupra last season, having transferred from, yes, Envision Racing. An overview of the expected grid for 2024 can be found here.
