Footage of then-F3 driver Alexander Peroni's crash in 2019 went around the world. On the super-fast circuit, the Australian went too fast over a speed bump after which he was shot high into the air. Miraculously, Peroni sustained no injuries from the crash. Since then, there has been regular discussion about the many 'speed bumps' along the track at Monza.

In the run-up to the Grand Prix, it was decided to remove these speed bumps in several places on the Italian circuit. This has been done in corner combination four and five, and corner eight. The first speed bump in corner ten has also disappeared. This way, the race organisers hope that accidents like Peroni's will not occur at Monza in the coming days.

Strict compliance with track limits

In Italy, the stewards will again emphatically check whether track limits are honoured. Anyone who places their car outside the white lines - and the past showed that this happened regularly at Monza - will lose their lap time.

Incidentally, in the Event Notes, Formula 1 and the FIA confirmed that an adjustment to the technical regulations had taken place. Without further explaining its content - which is only available to F1 teams- it seems to refer to the supplement on the flexible front wing. It was leaked on Wednesday that the FIA is going to ban wing elements from moving or rotating on the bodywork. This adjustment would only take effect from Singapore.
