Max Verstappen has been voted driver of the day by the GPblog audience. However, it wasn't a clean sweep of the votes this time. Sainz started the race on pole for the Italian Grand Prix and Ferrari's home Grand Prix, but it was the Dutchman who came from P2 to win the race and make it 10 victories in a row for Red Bull.

Other top scorers

Max Verstappen picked up 38% of the votes. The Dutchman has been exceptional all season and showed his class once again as he was tested by brave defending from Sainz in the race but eventually found the right time and picked off the Spaniard before setting sail into the distance. He was closely followed in second by Carlos Sainz, who gained 35% of the votes but the RB-19 proved too strong for the Ferrari. Sainz was the best of the rest and he held off attacks from his teammate to finish on the podium in Monza. Mexican Sergio Perez, who finished P2, gained 16% of the votes as the Red Bull duo dominated yet another Grand Prix. Perez sat quietly for most of the race before striking on Sainz to give the Red Bull team a 1-2 finish.

Alex Albon gained 6% of the votes as he had another successful Grand Prix. He started in P6 after a great qualifying, and on race day, the car matched the pace it showed in qualifying as Albon gained big points for the team, finishing seventh. Liam Lawson picked up 3% of the votes showing his skills on the track. Unfortunately for the New Zealander, he finished 11th and outside the points, but he was able to take positives from the race and hold his head up high with the way he drove throughout the weekend.

Lastly, the last 2% of the votes went to Lewis Hamilton.
