Will Hamilton get another win? 'Would be biggest triumph of my career'
Lewis Hamilton was at the top of Formula 1 with his team, Mercedes, for a long time, but since the 2022 rule changes, Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing have assumed that role. Hamilton has now not won an F1 race for almost two years and argues that should he win again, it would be his "biggest triumph of his career".
Hamilton can't wait for the W15
Unfortunately for the German constructor and its drivers, Mercedes' W14 did not turn out to be much more competitive than the W13. Indeed, Hamilton indicated in Japan that the cars are even very similar in terms of balance, something that was definitely not hoped for beforehand. "I try to push myself to the limit in every race, and I believe in my team. But it's true: if you don't feel the balance in the car, your willingness to take risks decreases," the Briton told Blick.ch.
Next year, Mercedes hopes to compete for victory in Formula 1 again with the W15. According to rumours, it will be similar to Red Bull's RB19. Hamilton hopes his team will not give up in the fight back to the top: "I hope the amount of data we have collected so far this year will have an impact on the new car. That is the hope of the whole Mercedes team across all the factories. We should all always keep believing in our goals and never give up."
Hamilton believes in Mercedes return
So, for now, mastering the 2022 regulations has still not worked out for Mercedes as well as the dominant Red Bull. However, Hamilton believes this will still happen: "We will come back. We can do it, the next step to the top podium will come, and it will probably be the biggest triumph in my career." Next weekend, the Qatar Grand Prix is on the programme. The last edition of this Grand Prix, in 2021, was won by Hamilton.
