Verstappen has no time for emotions: 'Live in the moment'
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen managed to add many records to his name in the 2023 Formula 1 season. Yet after all these records, Verstappen remains level-headed and indifferent about it. Records do not mean much to him, and he is not an emotional person, he explains.
Verstappen has several records to his name, a lot of which were achieved this season. The Dutchman has said many times before that those statistics are not that relevant to him, but he still showed some emotion in Abu Dhabi. He indicated that he was going to miss his RB19 and only then did the realisation of all he has achieved this season dawn on him.
He does not often come into contact with these emotions
Still, Verstappen indicates to the BBC Chequered Flag podcast that he does not often come into contact with these emotions. In doing so, he says he is not really an emotional person, but sometimes the emotions hit him a bit, and he realises what he has achieved, such as after Abu Dhabi.
The Dutchman says this is because he mostly lives in the moment. "You try to perform the best possible every weekend and then when you get to the finish line in Abu Dhabi, only then do you realise that is the end".
