Ahead of the new season,
Ferrari are making several changes to their Academy. One of the most notable decisions is the release of Arthur Leclerc, the younger brother of
Charles Leclerc, from the
Ferrari Driver Academy.
The Maranello-based team's Academy did not have an easy year. Despite racing with eight drivers in four different competitions, they only managed to win one title, the United Arab Emirates Formula 4 championship.
Arthur Leclerc started his first season in
Formula 2 last season, but he did not manage to achieve much success. Only one podium in Australia. His teammate Oliver Bearman had more success during his rookie year in
Formula 2. He even managed to win several races. It comes as no complete surprise then that Leclerc has to leave the Driver Academy.
Maya Weug
Dutch Maya Weug will compete for Ferrari in the
F1 academy next season. Given the new rules in which all
Formula 1 teams must supply at least one car to the academy, Weug is a logical choice as one of two female Academy Drivers.
