Leclerc signed a mega contract at Ferrari: This much he will earn

Charles Leclerc recently signed a multi-year contract extension at Ferrari. At least until 2026, the Monegasque will remain loyal to the Scuderia, and that comes with quite a price tag.
It is clear this is a long-term contract, although Ferrari has not disclosed any years. Earlier rumours circulated about a duration until 2029, but nothing is officially known about that. If true, Leclerc would be the first driver since Max Verstappen to sign such a long-term contract.
Leclerc's salary after contract extension with Ferrari
His long-term commitment to the Italian racing team will do the driver no harm, Italian Corriere della Sera reports. Leclerc's salary has reportedly increased by a whopping $6 million from $24 million to $30 million. Moreover, this change would take effect immediately, allowing the Monegasque to enjoy his salary increase even this year.
On top of that, his salary will rise to no less than $50 million a year in the coming years. However, there is a condition attached to this: in order to hit that amount, he must stay with Ferrari for the next five years, according to the Italian medium. Moreover, there would be a special clause in the contract which would allow Leclerc to choose to leave the F1 team at any time from 2026 onwards.
For Carlos Sainz, by the way, there would be no such mega-contract ready, according to Corriere della Sera. Ferrari would like to keep the Spaniard in the team but is not willing to go all the way. Among other things, the duration of the contract would be a point of discussion between the two parties. However, Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur has indicated that he would like to complete Sainz's contract before the start of the new season.
