Verstappen: 'Of course I understand that teams are moving towards our style'
The new season in Formula 1 has not started yet, but Max Verstappen has already impressed with his times in the RB20 during the test days in Bahrain. The Dutchman explains what his reaction was when he saw drawings of the RB20 last winter. The Red Bull driver reveals that he was thinking more about his holiday at the time.
Verstappen talks about his initial reaction to the RB20's drawing. "Well, I have to say, at that time, I wasn't much concerned with that. I saw the drawing and thought, 'Yes, it does look nice.' But I was thinking more about holidays," the three-time world champion revealed in Bahrain. " Yes, in the end, it doesn't matter what it looks like either, of course," Verstappen continued.

"But, of course, what I like about the team is that they have not been conservative and really pushed the limits, I think, by adjusting the concept anyway," Verstappen says. Indeed, Red Bull has used the Zeropod concept that Mercedes introduced earlier but failed with that concept.
Asked if standing still is going backwards, Verstappen replied decidedly. "Well, I think they just saw more potential in what the car looks like now to develop that again compared to what we had. Look, if you have a year like we had, then, of course, I understand that a lot of teams go a bit towards our style."
