Lewis Hamilton will move to Ferrari at the end of this Formula 1 season. As is well known, the Italians are very proud of Ferrari and its heritage. So Hamilton will have to start adjusting to that.

In early February, news broke out that Lewis Hamilton will move to Ferrari from 2025. This news came as a big surprise to many. Until now, the Briton has only driven for teams with a factory in England, namely McLaren and Mercedes. So the fact that he will now drive for an Italian team will take some getting used to for him.

Hamilton does not speak Italian

Not only will he have to get used to Italy, he will definitely have to get used to the language. Hamilton is not sure if he will manage to make the Italian language his own. "In all these years I've not managed to learn any other languages, but of course I'll definitely try. I do remember when I was karting in Italy and I was able to pick up a few lines and so hopefully that will come back to me pretty quickly."

Focus is still on Mercedes

Immediately afterwards, the 39-year-old stressed that his focus is not currently on his move to Ferrari, but on his current team and the upcoming season. "This chapter is still not finished. I'm still 100% focused on delivering this team this year, and trying to finish on a high. That's a big, big goal for me and the team. I have absolute faith in everything, everyone in the team and what we've done so far I think is great. So I really hope that we are somehow able to close the gaps of the ripples."
