18 November 2018 at 08:21

Tatiana Calderon has completed her first day of Sauber F1 testing at Fiorano. It's the second time she has driven an F1 car after making her cockpit debut in October.

The Columbian describes the event as a "great first experience" as she hopes to move eventually move into Formula 1. The current GP3 driver completed 90 laps which equate to 265km. Her fastest lap was 00:59.913.

"It was a really great first experience driving in Fiorano. The track is interesting, and the atmosphere is special," Calderon explained to reporters.

"The air and track temperatures were quite low today, but consistent. Our target was for me to learn the track and find a good balance for the car, which we achieved. Driving the Sauber C32-Ferrari feels incredible, and the sound and power of the V8 engine are amazing."

Testing will resume today [Sunday] on the same circuit. Hopefully, it's a little warmer than 7-10c making tyre running a little bit more realistic.
